Waiting....waiting.....waiting....waiting 3 Years, 8 Months ago
Being single has huge benefits and can be a very productive season in life. However when you are really hanging out for a partner it can be really tough! A lot of people say that they are waiting on the Lord and that is a wonderful thing to do but I think that waiting needs to be also combined with common sense....In other words just because you may be waiting for a life partner doesn't mean that you isolate yourself and expect a miracle! Getting out and socializing and developing healthy relationships with people (including members of the opposite sex!) may just be the way God opens the door! What other ways do you think you can prepare yourself for a healthy relationship if the opportunity comes along?

I think it's all about developing yourself holistically and by that I mean physically, spiritually, mentally, emotionally, relationally. Now I'm not saying you have to be perfect in order for you to go out with Mr and Miss Right, but I think asking yourself the question 'would you want to date you?' is a good place to start. And by that I mean are you fun to be around, are you developing your walk with God, do you look after yourself physically, are you attractive (and I'm not talking about just looks). People who love life ooze attractiveness. Can you mix with different types of people, what about hobbies - this is a great way to develop a passion and meet new people. There are a myriad of ways of developing yourself and putting faith to your waiting. Remember faith without works is dead. Waiting does not mean procrastinating and doing nothing. Prayer is a great way to start.
