Operation Christmas Child

Do you want to put a smile on the face of an underprivileged child this Christmas?

Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes.

The shoes boxes are filled with toys, school supplies, items for personal hygiene and clothes. Many children who receive a Christmas box have never received a gift before and their parents are not in a position to give.

This is a great opportunity for people of all ages to be involved in a simple, but hands-on project that has the power to transform lives. It is a fantastic way to teach children in particular what the true spirit of Christmas is all about.

Operation Christmas Child is an initiative by Samaritan’s Purse. Last year alone the Australian and New Zealand teams delivered more than 300,000 shoe boxes to South East Asia and the South Pacific. Globally Samaritan’s Purse distributes 7.6 million shoe boxes to children in 105 countries each year.

Bayside Church has been a part of Operation Christmas Child for the past decade. Last year the church provided 750 boxes to children around the world to brighten their Christmas. This year, we are aiming to send 1000 boxes.

It is a simple and effective way to make a huge difference in a child’s life.
