Mission Trip - Thailand 2012

This year Bayside Church will pioneer a two week missions trip to Thailand and will partner with CCD (Christian Care Foundation for Children with Disabilities).  CCD works alongside the Thai government in providing specialised care for disabled children, many of whom are orphaned from a very early age.  The disabilities range from milder physical disabilities right through to severe mental and physical disabilities.  They also help integrate these children back into Thai society, helping them find schools willing to accept the children and also providing day care facilities for the very young children.

As part of Bayside Church’s mission trip to work alongside CCD, a range of activities will be incorporated:
• Helping the local physiotherapists while they treat the more physically disabled children
• Taking the children from Rainbow House out on field trips
• Taking children from the government facilities out on field trips
• Helping develop a veggie garden outside Rainbow House
• Helping build a chicken coop
• Helping deliver English lessons to local Thai children in local Thai schools
• Playing with the children at Rainbow House
• Take a road trip and working for a couple of days at one of the Community Based Rehabilitation Centres
• There will be great times of praise and worship when the team gathers for its devotionals

The missions trip is open to all ages, particularly families, adults and young adults.  It’s a great opportunity to experience a new culture and get hands on.
