Bayside Responds To MyanmarBayside Church in conjunction with the Australian Government has funded a program that will help protect vulnerable children in Myanmar. Following the devastating cyclone in Myanmar in May this year, thousands of children are exposed to vulnerable situations. The project Hidden Lives Hidden Voices is part of World Vision’s Vulnerable Children Strategy which will aim to reconcile children with their families, provide emergency health care, clothing, meals and shelter, and vocational training for children. World Vision estimates that 6,000 (20%) of the street and working children in Myanmar will directly benefit from the Vulnerable Children Strategy Project in Yangon and Mandalay. Bayside Church was able to raise 25% of the funding required for the $83,000+ project and as a result the Government funded the remaining 75% project costs. Bayside Church through its Search and Rescue department is committed to responding to crisis situations as they arise around the world and providing hope in hopeless situations. |
