Bayside Aid Pours Into Bushfire Hit Areas PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 23 February 2009

At present it's been declared another ‘total fire ban’ day in Victoria and the hottest day since what is now being referred to as Black Saturday. There are still four bush fires in Victoria that are being fought by the fire authorities. Please continue to pray and uphold not only the fire victims, but the fire fighters, and all those who have given of their time and resources in responding to this situation.

BENDIGO

Last week Bayside Church saw the culmination of nearly two weeks work when a team from Bayside went to Bendigo with a three tonne truck full of material aid.

A total of 224 boxes were delivered to Victory Church, Bendigo containing linen, blankets, pillows, clothing, toys… and more!  Victory Church has already started to distribute the aid, supported by many of the local welfare agencies.  This will ensure that our aid goes direct to those who need it the most.  Stay tuned for some upcoming footage of the Bendigo trip.

ADOPT A FAMILY

Bayside Church has now ‘adopted’ a second family and are now offering support to the “Moonen Family”.  Mum, Dad and two young sons have lost their home in the Gippsland area.  They are currently living in a caravan on the Grandparent’s property.  Boxes containing items for the whole family were delivered to them on the weekend. Bayside's other family, the Dowlings, are in the process of looking for a rental property and a vehicle that will fit the family of 6.  Bayside will be meeting the Dowlings this Thursday when goods that have been collected will be delivered.
