In my last blog – What about Santa? – I said that I believe there is a place for Santa Claus in the celebration of a Christian Christmas, although the decision of whether or not to allow Santa to be part of Christmas must ultimately rest with parents.
Even though I think it’s fine to include Santa as part of a Christian Christmas I think it is also important that Jesus occupies the top spot because Jesus is better than Santa …
Santa lives at the North Pole ...
JESUS is everywhere.
Santa comes but once a year ...
JESUS is an ever-present help.
You have to wait in line to see Santa ...
JESUS is as close as a prayer.
Santa lets you sit on his lap ...
JESUS lets you rest in His arms.
Santa doesn't know your name, all he can say is "Hi little boy or girl, what's your name?”...
JESUS knew your name before you were born!
Santa says, "You better not cry" ...
JESUS says, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Santa's little helpers make toys …
JESUS makes new life, mends wounded hearts, repairs broken homes and builds mansions.
Santa may make you chuckle but …
JESUS gives you joy that is your strength.
While Santa puts gifts under your tree …
JESUS became our gift and died on a tree!
Jesus is still the reason for the season.
May this Christmas be a happy and holy time for you and yours.
