 Matt's Place trucking along
Local staff from a national commercial motor vehicle company recently chose Matt’s Place as the first recipient of its charitable fund.
In 2007, CMV staff initiated a Staff Charitable Foundation which allowed staff to donate as little as $2 to go towards local projects.
In close to 12 months the company raised $110,000 and the Bayside Dream Centre received $2500 to help with the running of Matt’s Place.
The company was prompted to contact the Bayside Dream Centre after seeing a local newspaper article on Matt’s Place.
Matt’s Place provides a place each week for people in the community who are lonely or disadvantaged to enjoy a two course lunch and connection.
Matt’s Place is fully supported by several churches in the City of Kingston including the Bayside Church’s community care arm, Bayside Dream Centre.
